NFC Championship Game

They’ve already swept the rest of the NFC South, and sit at 7-3 currently in an up-and-down division. Luckily, the Saints have also already slept the rest of the NFC North, so something’s gotta give here. The 4-6 record of the Falcons became a facade come Thursday, especially since division rivals tend to “have your number” much easier. The win here — in theory — eliminated the Falcons from possibly winning the NFC South this season, leaving only Carolina in New Orleans’ way to being division kings.

With the win, the Saints clinched home field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs. Mark Ingram II recorded his 50th touchdown, surpassing Deuce McAllister for the Saints franchise record for rushing touchdowns. The Saints were the only NFC South team to defeat all four of their AFC North opponents in 2018. Michael Thomas recorded his 90th catch of the season, joining Odell Beckham Jr. as the only players in NFL history to record at least 90 receptions in their first three seasons.

Here are the three most difficult games New Orleans will play in the rest of 2018. As for this season, the Saints aren't mathematically out of the playoffs, but things feel fairly bleak. Gardner-Johnson to the Eagles at the beginning of the season, and he has a league-leading six interceptions . In contrast, the Saints' 2022 free-agent additions have been underwhelming, particularly Maye, who has already missed four games.

The Saints haven’t faced the Falcons since Week 3 of the season, a overtime road win for the Saints. The last time these two teams met in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans got an early present in Christmas Eve, winning the bout in 2017. In the Divisional Round, the Saints played the sixth-seeded and defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.

Since they're playing the NFL East, and I'm in Igglesland, I expect to see lots of Saints games. It was the Rams' first NFC championship appearance since the 2001 season, when they were the St. Louis Rams and advanced to Super Bowl XXXVI, where they lost to the New England Patriots.

I have grown to love half working on a project while listening to the radio broadcast. It is like a win for me, win for the wife, and the nfl gets nothing from me. Night game radio listening isn't the same experience, hence traveling to a friends house. People that only watch the TV broadcast have missed out on a master of his craft. Saints: 3 Toughest Remaining Games of 2018

New Orleans will play each of its NFC South rivals twice, one game each against each of the NFC East and AFC North teams and will play the 2017 first place teams in the NFC North and NFC West (vs. Los Angeles Rams). After head coach Sean Payton lost a golf bet to Eagles head coach Doug Pederson, the Saints, despite being the home team, wore their white color rush uniforms. It was the first time the Saints used the uniforms at home.

That possibility makes this game, another rivalry one, a must-win for the Saints no matter their record. New Orleans has a very good chance of entering this game with a playoff spot clinched, and an okay chance of ending up with the NFC South crown by this point as well. In fact, the Saints are still in the hunt to officially secure a playoff spot in the NFC. They still have four division games left, half of which are on the road. After defeating the Vikings, Rams, Bengals, and Eagles, all in that order, the Saints still have a tough schedule ahead.
